After you have set up your search constraints, you may be interested in the details of individual subject responses, as well as aggregate values averaged across certain variables. To obtain individual trial data, choose the Individual responses option. To obtain averaged data, choose Average by (first order), then select one variable to average data across. For example, to see how performance data changes across the different clinical diagnoses, select Diagnosis. For even more sophisticated searches, you can use the Average by (second order) option. In this case, the data is grouped hierarchically across two variables. For example, if Diagnosis and Education level were selected, the results would display averaged performance data (or averages of whichever display columns you chose) for varying education levels within each of the diagnostic categories. This feature is designed to allow the researcher to do rough hypothesis-checking quickly and easily.
